Wedded Bliss // Jaclyn + Evan at Queens Farm

A crisp Autumn breeze + a bit of rustic charm and simplicity made for a gorgeous, end of September  wedding at Queens County Farm. I absolutely friggin' love when I can walk away from a wedding that I helped assist on coordinating, knowing that the couple who's union we witnessed, and whose reception we helped oversee were overjoyed by the outcome of their months or even years of planning.

I instantly fell in love with the couple's choice of birch containers, burlap details + floral arrangements incorporating roses and my new fave Dahlias.

It's all in the details: The couple's initials, a lovingly sweet sentiment, nostalgic photos of the bride and grooms parents and recent pic of Jaclyn and Evan decorated their escort card table.

The bride and her stunning bridesmaids were all picture perfect while the dapper groom and his groomsmen showed off their fun argyle socks.

The couple shared the endearing words "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine" as their pet dog Dominoe and all of their guests watched the romantic, sunset over their ceremony.

It was truly a pleasure to be a part of Jaclyn and Evans day the wedding party and family members gave such heartfelt speeches. The couple and their guests danced the night away, enjoyed cake from Momofuku Milk bar and gave Jackie and Evan a sparkler farewell that was a beautiful, love filled way to end the night.

Oh Snaps! A Peek at my Week on Instagram {#9}

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Did you do a bit of early 4th of July celebrating? The neighborhood fireworks were in full swing last night. I hate that it falls on a Wednesday this year, but we'll be heading out to beautiful Long Branch on the Jersey shore as long as the predicted thunderstorms stay away.
Here's a peak at what the boys and I have been up to this week:

Last Sunday 6.24.12 my parents celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary and have been together 37 years. They are a true testament that Love = perseverance through everything. I love my crazy parents.

We had friends of the family over for my first bible study in years. I don't cook but I threw together my favorite Summertime pasta salad, because it's simple but tasty and filling.

CJ and I woke up with major pep in our step, even got to our perspective schools early in anticipation of 2:40pm and the start of Summer vacay.

Freedom: Let the Summer fun commence!

We took an afternoon stroll around our neighborhood and Tristan Riley tried to deal with the heat.

These Hydrangeas look so chic and regal in hues of my favorite color.

One perk to being a mommy is that I can rock a cute band-aide without feeling judged.

The hubby was so awesome this weekend, he knew i'd be busy with looking over details for the wedding I was assisting with, that he threw together this delish Avocado, bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. It was perfection.

We take the boys to Queens County Farm Museum all the time for their festivals and it's tons of fun, but it was also a beautiful laid back wedding venue.

I was all smiles after meeting with the clients for the final walk through. I'm loving my new position as an asst. wedding coordinator.

Tristan was mesmerized Friday night by the Gotye video  for "Somebody that I used to know", he and his big brother CJ sing it all the time.

As we were finishing up the last few details for the reception, a rooster let out a cock-a-doodle-doo exactly when it was time to begin the ceremony, it was excellent timing like bells ringing at a church.

The mason jars and lavender were great, simple, rustic details.

Chowing down on Korilla BBQ and Frites N' Meats was definitely a perk of working with Fouzia, owner of My Bridal Budget.

Time to squeeze in some yummy tacos from Korilla BBQ before the cake cutting.

The bunnies found themselves mingling with guests during the reception.

The bride & groom were such a fun couple, they enjoyed their cupcakes and danced the night away. The night was a lot of hard work but the time spent planning and coordinating made it a successful occasion.

After a long Saturday the boys and I slept in on Sunday {8am is the closet we get to sleeping in with a 20 month old} and then went to see Madagascar 3 {we loved all the dance-in-your-seat music} and stopped by Max and Mina's for their interesting assortment of homemade ice cream. CJ had the "Circus" flavor which was made up of cotton-candy and bubble gum. I had the cheesecake crunch with toffee.

I hope you enjoyed the snaps. If you'd like to see more feel free to follow me on Instagram @dellahsjubilation.

Happy Weekend! Let's LINK Up

Hey there, good lookin'. I'm in such a friggin' good mood today despite how hot and sticky it is outside. Earlier today I headed to  Queens County Farm with Fouzia {a.k.a. boss lady} as we did a final walk through with the couple who's marrying there tomorrow. Follow me on Instagram @dellahsjubilation or check out the blog next week for snaps of this rustic foodie lovers wedding. Now that the work week has come to an end what do you have planned this weekend? Before the wedding the boys and I are planning to check out Madagascar 3 finally! Hopefully that means CJ & Tristan Riley will stop chanting "afro-circus, afro-circus, polka-dot, polka-dot, polka-dot-afro". Whatever you have planned I hope you  live in the moment and enjoy yourself!

Here's my fave links of the week from around the web:

The perfect dress for date night at a Summer stage concert in Central Park.

Are you addicted to Instagram like me? If so you'll totally appreciate these and something snazzy for your phone.

I'd love to take a break from this NYC humidity to keep cool and rent this place out, just not for too long.

Save space and enjoy a meal and conversation.

Summer is meant for light and simple meals like this dish and this dish, both seem refreshing.

Carry your wine to your next picnic in this.

Luck be a lady in these sparklies.

You can hide your stuff in here when guests come over, I won't tell.

Lil' Monsters in NYC: Check Out Queens County Farm

Whenever I need for the family to take some time out from our fast paced days of repetitive activity, one of our favorite places to go is Queens County Farm. It has always reminded me of the Zuckermans farm from the story Charlotte's W.E.B.  I find it to be the perfect place for the boys to experience farm life (It's the only active running farm in NYC) and it only requires a 35 minute bus ride (working on getting that car). CJ's school takes the students on field trips there every year and in the past they have gotten to milk the cows, go on hay rides, pick pumpkins, get lost and found in a Corn Maize Maze, feed goats and play in the pens with the baby piglets. The Queens County Farm is now selling its very own wines from grapes grown in the vineyard at the farm. This is the only commercial vineyard in New York City. and it also sells eggs, honey, plants and gifts. You can also find them selling merchandise at the Union Square Farmers Market.

I promised a few weekends ago to share pictures from one of their festivals in Sept, so take a peak and mosey on down to check it out for yourself. I promise you'll love it's charm!

We started off our day with the cutest pig races. Some of the featured contestants had names that CJ thought were hysterical: Pork Vader (Darth Vader) and Kevin Bacon. When CJ was two he called pigs by the name of his favorite breakfast staple "Bacon".

After the races we headed off to the petting zoo so that the kids could get up close and personal with some of the barnyard animals. Some animals got a little closer than others!

This pig seemed to know the lettuce was for him and needed to have a conversation with Tristan about handing it over promptly.Tristan thought it was hysterical, I couldn't believe he didn't burst into tears.

Tristan decides the pig could have it after all.

Emily loved the Guinea Pigs and tried to carry one off.

The grown ups were just as excited for the rides as CJ was.

It wouldn't be a County Fair without a few, make you dizzy, fun rides.

or without the yummy treats!

This just proves I'm not the only one who is reminded of this childhood, classic farm story when visiting.
The gift shop was adorable and their were perfect gifts for everyone.

Loving the speckled knitted chicks.

There were also separate vendors who had cute knick- knacks and fabulous vintage stuff, like this stunning pearl bib necklace

The babies had a great time playing with their prizes they won fishing with their dads.
Chris knew if the babies could do it he could too.

So long farm, we had a great time!

Hope you decide to check out the Queens County Farm there are still a few more events before the year is up:
