Elated with Etsy: Style Your Own Solange Inspired Wedding

What can I say, I freakin'  loved everything about Solange's wedding day because you could see that it was planned around the couple's eclectic, laid back style and I love seeing unions celebrated in a way that reflects their own personal taste. She may be known to some as Beyonce's lil' sister but Solange has made a name for herself & is the epitome of going against the grain, in a good way! As one of today's most fashionable influencers she gives us lots of chic, quirky-glamour and edginess that seems effortless. She showed us all how you can shut the internet down with grace and it's been exciting as well as inspiring to see how her style has evolved over the years.

A traditional veil was replaced with a bad-ass cape and glamorous golden cuffs around her wrists that had her resembling a modern day superwoman as she said her I do's.

From the baby's breath that adorned her Diana Ross-esque fro, to the sexy, egg-shell white jumpsuit she wore while pedaling side by side with her extremely dapper hubby, to the asymmetrical dress which was one of many outfit changes she wore as they celebrated the night away in New Orleans.

Every, single last detail was ah-mazing!

Want to try to recreate parts of her wedding day style? Well discover these Etsy finds that I thought channeled the day best:

Giselle Two Piece Bridal Junpsuit
Wide Matte Gold Cuff Bracelet or Modern Gold Cuff Bracelet
Baby's Breath Bridal Barette
Asymetrical Flannel Wool White Cape Dress

Elated with Etsy: 8 Lovely Holiday Gift Ideas for Her #HolidayGiftGuide #Etsy

With Halloween behind us and half the chocolate candy eaten (most likely by you and not the kids), all thoughts have probably moved onto that delicious menu you have to plan for Turkey Day and you've probably noticed (like we did today as Walgreens employees started unloading faux Christmas trees) that Christmas is rapidly approaching, even though many of us are most likely nowhere near ready. I thought today would be the perfect day to kick off my series of Holiday Gift Guides, starting with gifts for the amazing ladies in your life (and it's ok, you can get something fabulous for yourself too).

  • Let her know that she's a Gem with this Jewel Soap Sampler Box that includes 4 vegan friendly scented soaps (w/hints of: ylang ylang + sweet orange, lavender +cedar-wood, dark patchouli and black raspberries, lychee pulp + oolong tea) $17.47
  • If she loves spending time in the kitchen she'll love using these 4 Gold Nesting Measuring Cups  that will add a dash of sparkle. $69.95
  • As it starts getting chillier, adding a Metallic Vegan Cowl Scarf to her outfit will keep her stylish and warm. I'm loving that it has a herringbone pattern, a metallic closure and is super shiny. $34
  • Every woman needs an over-sized tote and this rainy print Zip Tote is perfectly sized for carrying tablets, your exploding makeup bag, that pair of comfy shoes and snacks for your lil monsters if you have any. $95
  • Because shot's of whiskey are way more fun than earl grey tea, this typography print quote would be perfect hangin' up for all to know, that she's pretty dang cool. $16.41
  • Girls rule the world with or without a guy by their side, and when there's time to rest, this "Building Empires" decor pillow is one bad ass reminder.
  • It's all in the details and I'm all for standing out in a crowd. These are gorgeous, statement making, personalized cuffs. $107
  • If you can't go camping, or better yet glamping, bring the fun indoors, round up your friends and start roasting  marshmallows with this yummy s'mores kit. $18
Are you elated with my Etsy finds? which ones are you considering gifting or coveting for yourself?

Elated with Etsy: Holiday Gift Guide for the Lil' Monsters

While many of us will be adventuring off to Toy's R Us or F.A.O Schwarz during the next few days {which seems like an absolute death wish to me, filled with long lines and temperamental sales associates & parents w/ meltdown having kiddies, that I'd much rather avoid} I wholeheartedly suggest that you guys shop at your favorite local small business spots, especially while there are so many holiday markets and pop-up shops open for the season. I decided I'd round up a few of my fave Etsy finds for your special lil' monsters that are unique and sure to create lasting memories while bringing smiles and giggles well into the new year. Which of these Etsy finds would a lil' monster in your life, love to find under the Christmas tree this year?

The sweetest plush bunny who'll attend play-dates for teatime.

Elated with Etsy : Shop Spotlight on Charlie Be Good

This time of year I start contemplating our color palette for holiday decor in our house and once that's figured out I go on to planning our family outfits for our holiday card. We used to go to those mall portrait studios but we've since learned after our oldest had a horrific toddler tantrum {picture a bloody nose all over their faux white fur rug & nerve-wracking crying that signaled all the judgmental stares from parents much older than we were} that we'd just have a family member snap a pic of us with our cellphones in the comfort of our own apartment. Gotta Keep it simple during the holidays, right?

Usually we include our terrier Sonic in pictures with the boys individually because we've never successfully pulled off a family photo with the dog and both kids looking in the same direction. We thought we'd attempt at trying to get him in the family picture this year. We've chosen the color scheme of berry colors {think purples, burgundies and blues} with accents of black or gold. Since it seemed like a sophisticated choice we think we'll get Sonic all snazzy and get him a bow tie.

Right away I headed to Etsy.com and discovered the shop CharlieBeGood, which sells super cute, handmade bow-ties, collars, leashes, dog beds and carriers at really affordable prices. The boys and I agree that the Purple Polka-dots bow tie {last picture featured} will be so perfect and we're hopeful that Sonic won't get too distracted by it, long enough to snap a good picture! Do you include your pets in your family holiday photo's? For laughs here's a few awkward holiday pet portraits and 5 tips to get the best holiday pet photo and I wish you all lots of luck with your holiday picture taking!

Elated with Etsy: Shop Spotlight on Wild Things Dresses

When I spotted Wild Things Dresses on Etsy a week ago I knew I had to share this adorable shop, in hopes that any of you reading this could order something you loved in time for Halloween {In the U.S orders must be placed by Oct. 20th}. What I love most about these costumes is that kids can use their imagination while playing and if they wanted they could wear them outside without looking like they've been playing dress-up and we lost the battle to get them to take it off.  Another plus for parents is that we won't have to worry about them fussing about keeping their itchy mask with the tight elastic band that pinches their ears on, while we try to get that in the moment trick-or treat photo.

Shop owner Kirsty custom designs and creates in her studio across the way in England and calls her three wild things at home her inspiration for her simple, yet vibrant and fun creations. I'm looking forward to the shop launching more items for boys because my youngest monster loves his bag of costumes and is always asking for new ones. Which of the Wild Things Dresses costumes below or on the site could you see yourself gifting or your own little one wearing?

Elated with Etsy: Shop Spotlight on De-Mes ' Tiks New York

The first thing that comes to my mind when looking at this Fall preview line from DemestiksNewYork is vintage glam meets fun, African prints. Fashion week in NYC is right around the corner, so I thought I'd search Etsy for some fashion forward finds and discovered these designs by Reuben Reuel. Can't you see Solange Knowles gracing a stage in one of these pieces? From peplum pants suits and tea length skirts to everything in between these bold, statement making prints are sassy and cute, don't ya think?

The looks that are mostly made from fabrics and trims from the NYC Garment District have been featured in Instyle Magazine and Bust magazine. The price points make this line seem like an affordable luxury for everyone's closet! Make sure you follow the designer on Instagram @reuel _reuel for updates on new items & sales. Which one of these vibrant looks could you see yourself wearing?

Elated with Etsy: Shop Spotlight on Nirwa Designs

I spotted a very similar chevron DIY project on Refinery29 that will have you channeling your crafty side.

I'm absolutely in love with Nirwa Design and the beautiful handmade pillow covers that will bring a special touch to any corner, when styling your home. If you're a fan of geometric prints, brush strokes, pastels or ombre then you are bound to find a print you like. You can also have a custom illustration created of yourself, a pet or any item {the cat pillow resembles the designer's cat Ned} that would make for a unique gift. I got excited after I popped over to the facebook page and spotted an update that said that linen covers were coming to the shop soon. Stop by the Nirwa Design shop on Etsy and you"ll find a few colorful, fun reasons to grab & cover a bunch of pillows that will have you smiling every time you glance at them.

Elated with Etsy: Shop spotlight on Salt City Emporium

What mom isn't all about  function, durability and comfort when shopping for clothes for their kids? I think it's an even better score when those items are on point with current designs and prints, that calls to your child's unique personality and sense of style. When I spotted the shop Salt City Emporium on Etsy I had to share some of their 100% organic cotton, trend-setting apparel for the kiddies, with prints featuring Chevron, clouds, arrows and foxes. Expect new items for kids this summer/fall and I'm anticipating the introduction of their adult line "Urban Salt".

Elated with Etsy: Etsy & Nordstrom Present.......

Happy 8th Birthday Etsy! Almost a week ago I shared Instyle magazine's tweet of the news that Etsy was going mainstream & received a tweet back from Nordstrom, sharing their excitement for the collaboration. I've been a huge fan of Etsy over the last five years after buying items I coveted for my paisley and jewel toned themed wedding and our sons circus themed first birthday party and various unique gifts for friends and family. I can only imagine how thrilled these emerging designers are with such a great opportunity to have their creative handmade and beautiful, vintage products in a world known fabulous retailer. I for one will be checking back on the page Etsy and Nordstrom Presents regularly for updates on newly released products.

Downing Pottery's San Francisco Cityscape hand-painted mug has such cute detail, perfect for any morning cup of joe or sip of tea. Visit the Etsy shop for other sweet items and cross your fingers that the owner will design some for other cities {like NYC}.

Dock Artisan's  Manzanita Iphone 5 dock is a hand sanded, functional and naturally one-of-a-kind gift idea. The Etsy shop has quite a few finds perfect for any fella in your life.

Anto Art's has such beautifully rustic and charming personalized items for weddings, gifting and the home. Their "We Do" cake topper caught my I because of it's simplicity and I know like the MyBridalBudget clients I meet with, tons of brides would love it to adorn their wedding cake. Other Etsy shop products can be found here.

Sweet Sorrella Design's monogrammed compact mirrors are right on trend featuring polka-dots, chevron and striped prints and make great gifts for spa parties and bridesmaids.

Other Etsy shops featured on Nordstrom to look out for are:

Whichgoose for floral crowns and gorgeous accessories. The baby breathe crown would be breathe-taking on a winter bride or even a flower girl and I am loving the burlap ring bearer pillow on their Etsy shop page.

CircaCeramics for vibrant and fun porcelain bowls, plates, magnets and more. I could see me pretending to make something in the kitchen with these, and spotted this bowl  in their Etsy shop that my monster boys would use.

Serephine  for sashes that bring a touch of glam to any simple dress and bridal accessories like this sparkly tulle bridal hair flower. If it were in my budget this amazing headband  in the Etsy shop would have to be worn on my walk down the aisle.

Happy Shopping! Oh and by the way, the annual Etsy craft party is this Thursday, June 20th. Find a location where you can join in and Craft for Community.
