Oh Snaps! A Peek at our October on Instagram

It seems October came and went like a cool autumn breeze and now we are tip-toeing upon Turkey day and holiday shopping, I was even tempted to blast some tunes from my holiday playlist on Spotify. October was a busy month for us, the hubby started culinary school, I juggled my teaching job + working weddings and constant Crohns flares while we kept up with our crazy monsters.
  •  First signs of leaves turning in our Queens neighborhood.
  • Tristan and daddy working on a craft project after reading the the book Perfect Square
  • The monsters tried convincing us that their new ride would fit in our tiny apt.
  • Power breakfast courtesy of the hubby.
  • All set for the I Do's at the Cottage in Milleridge Inn
  • Squirrel vs. Toddler.
  • I fell in love with the book Alpha Block and it's on my gift giving list.
  • Tristan's completely enamored with my bestie Tacha.
  • Dinner is served!

  • A little morning inspiration beneath my feet.
  • I'm not envious at all, of the reading in my hubby's future.
  • Unexpected flowers from my boys since I was a sick hot mess.
  • Can you tell they are super proud of their daddy?
  • The monster turns 3!
  • Sonic wants to play with the sleeping monsters.
  • Not sure who loves the hat more, me or him.
  • The highlight of my month is when new magazines load on my nook.
  • Trick or Treat
I hope you all had a wonderful October and that you enjoyed a peek at our moments from Instagram. If you already follow our adventures on Instagram, thanks bunches and If you'd like to you can follow us @Dellahsjubilation

Oh Snaps! A Peek at our last Summer Moments on Instagram

All though I'm back in the classroom, I've flipped through the pages of all the Fall fashion issues of my favorite magazines, and there's a cool enough breeze at night to leave the windows open, I'm still in denial that in just 5 days Summer will be officially over. In my Facebook feed yesterday there was a post from ABC Family, that mentioned the 100 day countdown till Christmas, which sparked a conversation about presents, and the need to buy the boys new winter boots which instantly had me anxious. I'm so not ready! Personally I'd love to just linger in the memories of our simply relaxing summer & thought I'd let you indulge a little longer by sharing some of our August stay-cation moments.

Oh Summer you will be missed!

  • I was so jealous of those that got to Foley sq. early enough for Zip-lining during Summer Streets.
  • CJ loved this larger than life sun-catcher and the other pieces of public art at City Hall Park.
  • Even Space Rangers have to take a potty break.
  • Gantry State Park for some Shakespeare in the park.
  • My new fave pic of the Hubby and I courtesy of our 8 year old. Say "Cheesedoodles"
  • Sunset, slides and swings with great views of the skyline.
  • My fave brunch at Essex: potato cakes, apple cream sauce w/ spinach, mushrooms and black beans.
  • Roof top loungin' at home with the boys.
  • Burgers anyone? Like father like sons, they aspire to be great cooks someday!

  • My swag of beauty goodies from winning the Rank and Style Instagram contest.
  • Riding the waves on the NYC water taxi to the Red Hook Ikea.
  • Tristan sang his abc's as he refused to come from under this alphabet bedding.
  • El Anatsui's installation Gravity and Grace was amazing to view up close.
  • My girl Tacha is such a cheeseball posing with Annunciation at the Brooklyn Museum.
  • We were starved and not disappointed when we popped into the  Sunshine Co. for brunch.
  • Who doesn't love a lil bit of colorful Bklyn. street art?
  • Baby SIR-MIX- A-LOT, future Dj in the making.
  • Goodnight moon and other childhood stories old an new at the NY Public Library.

  • Some would rather forget about their H.S days but the Brooklyn Tech class of 2000 meets annually.
  • Stumbled upon some awesome Jazz in Central Park.
  • Got up to use the bathroom and these guys took over my spot in the bed thanks to the 2 yr.old.
  • Rose Gardens, composting and dragonflies, all enjoyed on our trip to the Bklyn. Botanical Gardens.
  • Kicked off our anniversary weekend with Good Morning America, Alicia Key and Maxwell.
  • Lunch at the South Street Seaport
  • My outfit all planned out for date night, which included these killer wedges from JustFab!

  • Taking in the city skyline at Gantry State park after dinner with the hubby.
  • You'll probably never catch me in shoes this high ever again, so the photo is a keepsake.
  • I'm so spoiled, I never want to go out to eat because I know my hubby can throw down.
  • Hey there Lady liberty! Views from our ride on the Shark speedboat.
  • A little arm candy and a glimpse at my metallic sandals.
  • Caught the James Turrell installation at the Guggenheim.
  • Impromptu trip to the Hamptons with the bestie and our beaus.
  • "F LOVES F" the sweetest engagement party ever for the founder of My Bridal Budget.
  • Living in the moment, enjoying Labor Day and loving my family.

Oh Snaps! A Peek at our July Stay-cation on Instagram

Now that July has come and gone, I'm praying that time will just slow down so that we can enjoy our stay-cation just a little longer. I thought I'd share a few pics of how the Hubby, monsters and I have been living in the moment and enjoying life. You"ll have to forgive me for not posting sooner about our NYC adventures as I have been trying to keep the boys busy while battling with a few Crohns disease flare-ups that have been leaving me exhausted. Despite it all we've been trying to get out as the countdown to back to school has begun, and I know this all imminent reality because we've already hit up the target back to school sale.

// Brooklyn Bridge Park & Jane's Carousel have become our home away from home .//
// Discovered these modern day colorful nesting dolls in the window of BoConcept. //
// "It feels like I'm flying mommy" CJ loves the FREE Track & Field with City Parks Foundation.//
// Watermelon Margaritas are a great way to get through Mercury being in Retrograde, don't you think? //
// Kept it local this 4th of July and watched the fireworks from our rooftop lounge. //
// Ah hoy Maties! My lil pirates enjoyed all the performances at SummerStage Kids family day. //
//  I love sharing games like Candyland from my childhood with the boys, and they loved winning. //
// I took in a beautiful, calming sunset over the Bklyn Bridge with a childhood friend. //
// Scrabble tiles & 3D glasses were just some of the nostalgic touches at a ReBar wedding I assisted with. //

// We deemed this our "Cosby" family photo on a stoop as we took a break from the Urban Lawn party. //
// Here comes Trouble! Who's looking to get soaked? Happy 6th Birthday Lucas. //
// Mommy & son qt time over two interesting reads. //
// That feeling of overwhelming excitement as CJ and kids we volunteered to chaperon on a community                                field trip,  glance out the window of the F train and spot Coney Island. //
// The WONDER WHEEL in all it's iconic glory. //
// My bestie had to kick off her fabulous Zaras shoes and relax her feet at the end of a BaubleBar event. //
// Bad parenting is allowing your spider-man obsessed toddler to try on a hoodie you aren't planning to buy.//
// My favorite section in all of Barnes and Nobles and B is for Brooklyn is being added to our library.//
// Can you blame him for being amazed by the millions of colorful balloons in Pixar's UP?//

I hope you enjoyed a peek into our July stay-cation and if you'd like to see more pics of our day to day and NYC adventures check out my Instagram @Dellahsjubilation

Oh Snaps! A Peek at my February + March on Instagram {#15}

A Peek at February

"You can only celebrate being 30 a second time once" was the quote of the evening // Girls night at Jade Eatery + the majority of my fave chica's coincidentally were rockin' cobalt blue // Four words Red Velvet + Martha's Country Bakery // Bubbly and trashy reality TV to end the night.

Superbowl Sunday was my actual birthday which was celebrated with delish cake from Eataly // Qt time with myself meant a bubble bath and a DIY mani {attempts to stop biting my nails}// CJ thought it would be funny to spook the mess out of me by planting a spider with my polish.

Another snowy commute to work // "Life is but a Dream" spotted on 42nd street // Tristan was so excited about big boy underwear he needed to wear three pairs at once // Abnormally warm day meant a few minutes in the park with my mini me // Happy Valentines Day to my forever young mommy.

Clouds that looked like cotton candy floating by our window // CJ was extremely excited the night before his first swim class // Monsters look their sweetest when they are knocked out // Surprise flowers from The Hubby.

My first visit to The Metropolitan Museum of Art with my 1st graders// Loved this woman's subway swag and the robocop-esque shades// Field trip to the Fire Museum// Just me, my Thick and Fluffy Eggos and  a Gossip Girl marathon {a house to myself}.

Celebrating our Uncle Dave's birthday, he left us on 12/12/12 and he will be forever missed

A Peek at March

Kept dinner light and healthy with tomatoes, avocado and fresh mozzarella.

Let the Spring break fun begin! A trip to the Central Park Zoo left my monster feeling like he was on display while this silly bird kept following him around // Free Kiddie Rock at the New York Public Library // A stop at F.A.O Schwarz always includes playing with Muppets.

Oh 5th avenue, how I love your enticing windows {Bergdorf Goodman}.

`The boys were so excited to meet up with daddy after he got off work.

"The Man, The Legend, My Tristan" was amazed by all the huge sculptures and pyramids on our first family visit to The Met.

Happy Easter from the monsters! All set and ready to roam the city.

Follow that bird! By the time we caught up to Big Bird in Central Park, Tristan wasn't too sure he wanted to be that close to the yellow feathered giant who happened to have a Brazilian accent and music blaring from his plumage.

Duck watching by our favorite bridge in the park.

Another Spring Break First was walking through the Easter Parade on 5th avenue + spying all the the creative decor at Rockefeller Center.

CJ got to try out being a dragon in the midst of the parade. We've decided to keep a list of all things that he's done before age 10 that we have just done or yet to do at age 30.

Signs of Spring have finally sprung in NYC with blooming Daffodils in Madison Sq. Park , hopefully it lasts.

I guess sometimes I live by my motto of "enjoying life & living in the moment" so closely that It's hard for me to catch up on blog posts. I always love giving you guys a peek into what my life with the monsters and The Hubby is really like here in NYC from the days we play tourists to the ones were it's just us in our cozy, tiny Kew Gardens apt. With warm weather days on the horizon and the start of wedding season I can't wait to continue sharing. Hope you enjoyed the peek at our last two months! Oh Snaps! A Peek at My January on Instagram {#14}

1.A great start to 2013, committed to eating healthy & to taking care of my body. // 2. Spotted these fun yarn animals in Target that would be perfect for the boy's animal themed room. //  3. Our furry monster Sonic enjoying his Christmas toys.

{Then}Me & the Hubby at a friends wedding in 2007. {Now}The Hubby & I at a friends wedding in 2012

The Hubby knows the way to my heart is by way of my tummy so for our anniversary weekend of 10 years together we headed to Cocktail Bodega for an early, laid back dinner {everything was good} and spiked smoothies and then to a cozy little restaurant  La Churreria for delicious churros and extra thick, chocolatey cocoa.

My first attempt at a homemade green smoothie, it was pretty good but needed bananas to make it a little thicker.

Although he's allergic to shellfish, the Hubby made me a lobster dinner and we had friends over for movies & bubbly.

1. Even superheroes enjoy a good bedtime story. // 2. I loved everything about this lady's subway swag, you can't see it in the pic but she was even rockin' a bit of fur. // 3. I don't think they"ll ever find their bird while waiting for the downtown B and C train. // 4. Special moments between my boys make everything all worth while.

Pizza making party to kick of CJ's 8th birthday festivities. Thanks to their dad the boys love being in the kitchen.

1. Tristan couldn't take his eye's off the cake while we sang Happy Birthday to CJ. // 2. Peek-A-BOO // 3. Tristan decided to make me a meal that would put a smile on my face and then later told me, "Mommy don't play with your food."

Early Sunday morning and the monsters are waving to the neighbors passing by.

Despite me being sick for the 2nd time in a month I didn't want Tristan to miss out on his first opportunity to  play in the snow. The monsters loved every second, although it wasn't snow good enough for a snowball fight it was great for making snow-angels and tasting.

I hope you enjoyed my snaps!

Oh Snaps! A Peek at My Week on Instagram {#13}

Happy Monday! How was your week?  I've been in great discussion with the Hubby as I debate going back to work {part time or full time} and what would be best for our family. Decisions, decisions, decisions... in the meantime I'm enjoying every Summer moment we have left.

I realized the boys and I had been stuck in the house since last weekend, held prisoner to threats of thunderstorms. Which meant a lot of cooking for the Hubby and double the eating for me. This photo of my pastrami, fried egg, cheese and avocado sandwich was an amazing start to the day.

Tristan Riley has taken it upon himself to start his potty training, & I think other than the tissue sniffing he understands the process. I better jump on it before he takes matters further into his own hands.

Did you ever see the film "The Neverending Story"? this photo I took from our living room window reminded  me of the darkness called the Nothing that took over. All you 80's babies will get it.

Another breakfast courtesy of the Hubby, enjoyed while watching Breaking Bad on Netlfix.

National Dance day was this Saturday. The boys & I love any reason to get up and move to a catchy beat {images found on Pinterest}.

Tristan Riley & I enjoyed a rainy day story time before his afternoon nap.The song "You are my Sunshine" has been a favorite for me & the boys since the Hubby and I started dating nearly 10 years ago. When we found this book at the New York Baby show earlier this year we had to have it.

Seeing as we hadn't been out in a while {sans the kids} we jumped at the chance to head into the city for our friend Drew's Birthday. We bribed my sis Nicole to babysit the boys with this Tiger Shrimp & pasta dish the Hubby made.

{Top left} The Hubby (on the left) & Drew cheering to another year of life. // We were watching the Olympics opening ceremony from the bar at Tonic while I snapped this pic of us. // It's always good times with Tina {Drew's girlfriend} and Ms. J, can't wait for the next get together.

On Sunday despite the threats of rain, we headed to the Bronx Zoo and the storm clouds stayed away, allowing us to have a great time without the usual crowds of people {they must've been scared of the forecast}. That sculpture of the Gorilla was made of Lego's and took 350 hours to make. Pretty dang amazing, another visitor and I joked seeing that we can't get our kids to keep still for more than 35 minutes.

Tristan Riley was thrilled when the carousel ride was over, it clearly wasn't his favorite part of the day. However the boys did get a kick out of searching for the prairie dogs, which brought back memories of when I was kid with my cousins, popping my head out of those same tunnels.

There were a few sun showers as we started to exit the zoo but our visit turned out to be the perfect ending to a great weekend! I hope you all lived in the moment and had a productive week!
