Elated with Etsy: Nautical Knots & Stripes

I woke up this morning with a huge smile on my face, anticipating the warm weather days ahead of us. I have yet to venture off on a sailing excursion with my bestie Erin yet but even on land I love my stripes.

What  sea worthy finds are you lusting over this season?

I hope there are great weather days for sailing and all sorts of outdoor fun headed our way. Happy 1st day of spring! Let the sunshine in and enjoy.

Let the sunshine in and enjoy this first day of Spring!

Random Goodness: Welcoming Spring with Terrariums and Gardens for small spaces

1. Perfectly festive Easter egg terrariums

2. Four Globe Manzanita Forest

3. Modern Pyramid Lichen Moss Terrarium

4. Mason Jar Herb Garden

                                                       5. Vertical shoe rack vegetable garden

I definitely lack a green thumb in our home, and if it weren't for the Hubby, the one plant we do have{ not sure what it's called but it has purple and pink flowers} would surely be dead by now. I have been known to kill an orchid or two during our dating years{and they are supposed to be really low maintenance}

6. Our plant is truly lucky to have the Hubby in her life!

I would love to have one of those gorgeous green spaces filled with exotic plants and flowers but I know I'd never be able to keep up. I have a hard enough time making sure all the boys, including the dog have eaten. A garden or plant would fall victim to my busy schedule and delusions of garden grandeur but I thought these Terrariums and indoor gardens would be the perfect touch of spring in a small space or for those who are as horrible with greenery as me.

Are you planning to add some sort of greenery to your space to welcome Spring into your home? How does your garden grow?

Happy Planting!

Revel in NY: Macaron Day NYC 2012

1. Happy St. Paddy's Day

2.  Pecan Pie Macaron

3. Fun Color

4. Who doesn't love Fruity Pebbles

5. Neapolitan Ice Cream Macarons

Macarons seem to be stealing the spotlight away from the cupcake these days with their decadent flavors and eye-popping rainbow assortment of colors. I was overwhelmed by images and flavor descriptions on Pinterest, it was very difficult to narrow down the choices {not to mention I was starving as I put this together}.These little treats pack BIG yummy taste and are tons of fun to have at your next celebration.

If you are in NYC this upcoming week {March 20th} head to the Macaron Day NYC 2012 for a sample from participating local bakeries. If one just isn't enough, some of the proceeds from purchases made that day will go to City Harvest, an organization that helps New York's hungry men, women and children.

My oldest son CJ would love if we stopped by the Macaron Parlour to try out their Bacon and cream cheese Macaron! and their other delicious sounding flavors: Tiramisu, S'mores, Thai Chili and Red Velvet to name a few.

Happy Tasting!

Elated with Etsy: Shop Spotlight on Zeppi Prints

I stumbled upon Zeppi prints a few nights ago while searching for the perfect ocean prints to update CJ's side of the room. I love Robin's {the artist} use of colors that either pop and bring out a rooms fun-tastic personality or that are very neutral and seemingly calm and comforting, while staying on trend with the oh-so popular Chevron and polka-dot prints.

Is their a room in your home that needs a piece of artwork to liven it up in time for Spring? What have you been dreaming up for your space?

A Cause for Jubilation: A colorful ball pit can even help random adults connect

While cleaning out my email box I stumbled upon one from Oprah.com and followed a link on Icebreakers for grownups. This Soul Pancake clip touches on the idea that we spend so much time passing each other by, caught up in our own day to day, probably not even mouthing a hello, good morning, let alone making eye contact.

If only meeting new people and making friends were as easy as when we were kids. As a parent and preschool teacher usually ball pits symbolize a pool of germs and yuckiness but actually in this instance I wouldn't mind seeing this ball pit full of random questions located in the middle of Times Square...Who inspires you? What's on your bucket List?

I love this, especially the two that pulled out their fake teeth {hysterical}, fate put them together in this pit they agreed. Great idea Golriz and Devon! Hope you guys enjoy and check out their other videos.

Fabulous FĂȘte: Happy 108th Birthday Dr. Seuss

" I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life's realities.”
 ~ Dr. Seuss {find this quote and others here}

While searching the web I found the two most adorable kids parties on Hostessblog.com that celebrated a few of this fantastic author's colorful, whimsical characters and wackiest phrases. The families attention to details in incorporating some of his works were pretty dang Awesome.

With the Premiere of The Lorax Movie coming out this weekend, this dessert table seemed like an adorably sweet treat to enjoy.

It only seems fitting that Dr. Seuss's birthday be celebrated across the country along with Read Across America Day, for his positive influence on the development of young readers and his insightful, creative stories. My favorite Dr. Seuss book was "There's a Wocket in My Pocket" because it taught me the names of all the common household items. Unfortunately I spent a great deal of time as a child looking for the creatures mentioned around our apartment, actually believing they did reside behind my curtain and in the waste basket.

Growing up what was your favorite Dr. Seuss book ? & when was the last time you read it?

Maybe it's time for a walk down memory lane, grab a copy of your favorite Dr. Seuss book or one you may have never read at your local bookstore/ library or download a copy to your E-reader of choice and start the weekend of with a little bit of relaxing nonsense!

xoxo,
          Dellah
