Disney Live Three Classic Fairy Tales 2015

Growing up I absolutely loved using my imagination while reading classic fairy tale stories and watching Disney princesses like Snow White, Cinderella and Belle on my old tapes that I popped into the vcr on Saturday mornings (I'm really showing my age). I'd throw on one of my favorite dresses and pretended that I was alongside them as they sang and dance, went on adventures, and defeated evil villains from page to page. I'd never been to a Disney on Ice show prior to last year but can't imagine how exciting it is to watch these stories come to life in a theatrical way. For kids of all ages that love Disney I thought it would be fun to share with you this giveaway that's being hosted by Kathleen of "My Best of Both Worlds", Good luck!

Lil' Monsters in NYC: Xtreme Family Fun with Ringling Bros. Circus Xtreme #RinglingNYNJ

Barclays Center

When I was a kid, it was a long standing annual tradition until I graduated from middle school to head to Madison Square garden with my parents and sis to see the circus. I remember insisting on getting my face painted to resemble the clowns (and crying because it would drip in my eyes by the end of the show) making sure that I had one of those twirling light gizmos and cotton candy on hand that never made it to intermission.

It's got to be almost seven years since we'd last been to the circus with our oldest CJ, so I can't even begin to tell you how excited our two monsters, ages 10 and 4 had been when we showed them a commercial for opening night at The Barclays Center of Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Presents Circus XTREME

Anytime our youngest caught a glimmer of it, he'd jump up and down through our apartment and continuously ask if that particular day was "THE" day we'd see the show. I don't think that tiny body of his could contain all the excitment he'd been holding onto for days & I ended up putting him down for a nap that afternoon because he was driving me insane as he counted down until we headed to Brooklyn.

Barclays Center

We transferred to the B train from Queens to get to the 6pm  All Access pre-show (free with your ticket an hour before showtime) but got stalled for nearly twenty minutes underground, leaving me probably more frustrated then the kids to miss out on such an awesomely unique experience, where you get to head down to the ring and meet the performers, try on costumes, watch a painting pachyderm create a masterpiece and see a few  of the acts up close. Get there EARLY!

Feeling refreshed, our 4 year old was literally pulling the hubby towards the Barclay Center because he didn't want to miss anything (that's them in the above left photo: Tristan wearing a color-blocked black and green coat, and the hubby giving me the side eye to hurry up).

Barclays Center

From exotic, beautiful Mongolian elephants and daring BMX trick riders to a fearless human cannonball who flies gracefully overhead, kids of all ages will find themselves in awe & at the edge of their seats as they try not to miss a single exhilarating moment.  Every few minutes you could see Tristan pointing, and another adorable blogger kid screaming from the seat behind us "Mommy, Mommy, look! look!" as they were completely mesmerized by the performers in the ring.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Presents Circus XTREME is a more modern and thrilling, live entertainment show that mixes extreme sports and acrobatics, with a menagerie of animals, dazzling lights and fun music.
 Barclays Center

Tristan was extremely focused on counting each of the high - wire wizards as they bravely balanced on each others shoulders above the audience.

The human cannonball was pretty amazing to witness, honestly it happened so fast I couldn't get myself together quick enough to get video of her breezing by above the crowd, CJ kept asking for a replay, and still watches the video on IG that Scherrie (ThirtyMommy) managed to score.

Some of the best entertainment by far was watching the elephants get silly as they showed off their tricks, dance moves and played a few rounds of toss the beach ball with the giggling crowd.

Barclays Center

Without a doubt, no circus show would be as good if there wasn't some cool music to get the audience dancing in their seats. Our monsters have dance parties and create their own playlists all the time at home, so when the high energy dogs and their trainers came out and wagged their tails to Taylor Swifts "Shake it Off", Bruno Mar's "Uptown Funk" and a handful of other top hits, they couldn't resist clapping and tapping their feet to the beats.

My blogger babes Nicole (The Bronx Mama) and Nellie (Brooklyn Active Mama) brought their families along, and everyone was all smiles as we watched some of the most extreme stunts wrap up the end of the night.

What do you most look forward to seeing when going to the circus?

Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey presents Circus Xtreme is definitely a fun night out with family and friends, so don't miss out on all the Xcitement. The show will be playing at The Barclay Center until March 1st. Sponsored By Balance Bar

One of the most common issues of topic I hear my mom girlfriends chat about, is the difficulties in finding the right balance between their home life and work life. Whether you work out of the home, in your home, have kids in school or babies and toddlers, juggling it all is never an easy task. I've actually been a stay at home for both my boys until they were 2 1/2 (now 10) and my youngest stayed with me until he turned 4 and entered preschool and in the interim I started grad school, teaching and event coordinating. Currently I'm navigating the idea of a more freelance-telecommuting lifestyle, while continuing to grow my blog, contributing content and coordinating events for other sites and substitute teaching. I've got to tell ya, honestly working from home just seems to be a thousand times harder, than anything I've ever done in the past. I can't let the pile of dishes and laundry distract me from writing, I have to remind myself to set boundaries and put the phone down when having dinner with friends and family and even if it's only 5 minutes I have to take time for myself. The key is BALANCE!

Balance Bar has started a new endeavor called the balance project. You can read Tammie's full post on what that is by clicking here. Bring a Little Bit of Balance Into Your Every Day with the Balance Project!

Balance: 98% of Americans believe it’s important, but only 14% are able to consistently achieve it. In 2015, Balance Bar® is embarking on a journey to discover what Balance means to you and how we can find more of it together. So head over to the Balance Project hub and take the quiz to discover what your work-life balance says about you, watch our street interview videos and get terrific tips from Balance Project spokesperson Gabby Reece!

Celebrate Your Pregnancy, Channel Your Everyday SuperModel and Capture the Moments: #BigBelliMoms Mamarazzi Breakfast with Molly Sims

Molly Sims - Dellah's Jubilation

Having been pregnant twice I can honestly admit I never truly embraced my own physical beauty as I transitioned through each trimester. The journey itself and the fact that I was caring for these little tiny humans for a time span that seemed to fly by was absolutely amazing. But I personally had a hard time embracing my mama glow. Maybe it's because both my pregnancies were high risk (I have Crohns which is an auto immune disease, that Ididn't have under control at the time) with the later being more difficult than the first, and although both my hubby and I were excited for our lil' monster's arrivals we definitely had our fair share of obstacles and I just was overwhelmed with it all.  Which just solidified for me that there's just no such thing as "The right time to have a baby" or the "perfect pregnancy" so just live in the moment and celebrate every single thing because through all the excitement and anxiety, it all goes by so quickly.

A few weeks ago,  NYC lifestyle/mom bloggers and other press outlets were invited to the Artisanal Bistro in Midtown for a #bigbellimoms Mamarazzi event hosted by The Moms Network with special guests: Super Model Molly Sims & Big Belli media.

Molly Sims - Dellah's Jubilation

Over lunch guests in attendance were introduced to Big Belli media, which is the parenting content and social networking brand behind the documentary 40 Weeks. Filmmaker Christopher Henze and his wife Dominique Debroux were on hand to share with us the story of how expecting their first child led to them researching all things pregnancy and realizing that there was a need for more visual sources of information. 4O Weeks is a full lenghth documentary that takes an intimate look at the journey through pregnancy and touches on the physical, medical (partnered with Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses for accurate & current information) and emotional aspects of having a baby. Starting March 1st, 2015, 40 Weeks will be available on DVD, or download through the website and itunes, you can also learn more by visiting 40weeksthemovie.com

"I feel and look better know at 41 then I did at 21!" I loved that Molly Sims, (who was so real and down to earth) admitted this to the luncheons audience of media and Lifestyle/Mom bloggers. I don't think anyone could disagree that Molly has aged beautifully and in her newly released book "The Everyday Supermodel" My Beauty, Fashion and Wellness Secrets Made Simple; Molly shares how she wasn't always the hot face and body you've seen grace the covers of Sports Illustrated and Allure.

Molly's Motto: If you look good, you feel good ----and when you feel good, you look good. So you might as well fell f***ing fabulous!

After perusing through her gorgeously put together book, I stumbled upon some relatable reflections and great tips on food, fitness, fashion, skin, hair and feel-good advice. Here's a summary of 4 out of 10 tips for three of the six chapters. I really love this book because it's like your super-model bestie giving you some real talk on how to be a better you!

The everyday model TOP takeaways ( food is not the frenemy)
  • Buy Organic When it Counts: If you can't spend the extra cash on organic buy conventionally grown fruits and vegetables but remember to wash them well and peel those that you can. Helpful guides to refer to: "The Dirty Dozen Plus" and "Clean 15".
  • Get Fiber focused. Don't avoid carbs like the plague, instead eat a balanced diet.
  • Treat, don't cheat and avoid binges.
  • Try to replace a meat based meal with a vegetarian one a few times a week.
The everyday model TOP takeaways (fashion institute of Mollyology)
  • Build your core wardrobe. Be Frugal but not afraid to invest good money into forever pieces.
  •  Dress to impress yourself. We are all a work in progress.
  •  Your tailor needs to be on speed dial . Getting clothes tailored makes a piece of clothing look chic, sophisticated and expensive.
  • It's never just about the clothes, polish is about the total package: from hair to skin to nails.
The everyday model TOP takeaways ( I made that sh*t happen)
  • Start being in charge of your life right now. There is no reason to wait. You only have one life to live, you might as well live it!
  • Face your fears and chase down your dreams.
  • Get a plan. Put it on paper. Write down steps to making it happen.
  • Know when to fold'em; let it go and move on.

Molly Sims - Dellah's Jubilation

These days I love how there are so many women documenting their pregnancies with professional photo shoots and sharing their #pregnancystyle across social media and I regret not taking more photos of my bump to look back on now. However I think I've made it up for it by taking loads of pictures of the boys over the last 10 years and have them spread out on my cellphone(including the ones that fell in the toilet or on the sidewalk and no longer work), digital cameras, on Facebook, on Instagram and on two iPads.

Being a new mom, and watching your kids grow up are perfect reasons to take an abundance of pictures to capture the day to day moments like, the first time they had solid food, moving up day in preschool or their first school show. The only problem with snapping so many pictures is where to store them all? I can't even tell you how many times I've been at a family fun blogger event and had my iPad or cellphone tell me it was out of space and I had to delete a few of the 2,300+ photos on my phone just to squeeze in 2 more photos, can you relate?

Imagine how freakin' excited we all were when we were introduced to Lyve  an amazing, FREE app that enables you to collect all the photos & videos you have on all of your devices into one single library, so that it's so much easier to find, view and share them.

I couldn't wait to get home and try it out, because as you can see from the photo above, having 4,000+ photos in just 1 of my 47 folders on my cellphone is insane and I'm always so worried I'd lose them. I'd totally recommend you download this app if you take tons of pictures because it will save you the worry of having those priceless moments lost somewhere, makes them more easily accessed and you'll free up some space on your other gadgets and gizmos!

Many thanks to The Moms Network for a fantastic lunch date! If you'd like to see more snaps from the event, check them out here!

*Disclosure: I attended this event as media, and received a copy of The Everyday SuperModel to assist in facilitating this review. No other compensation was received and opinions expressed are 100 %  my own.

Lil' Monsters in NYC: Can Do Duck: The Musical #CDDTM #Review

Dellah's Jubilation

"In our house, our kids know that when it comes to getting things done and setting goals the word CAN'T might as well be known as one of those bad 4 letter words" I overheard my hubby explaining to Ducktor Morty who's the author of the children's book "The Can Do Duck" (which was illustrated by his two young daughters and wife).

Last week we were invited to the preview performance of Can Do Duck: The Musical,  an Off Broadway, kid-friendly show (based on Morty's book) at the Lynn Redgrave Theater at Culture Project in Soho, NYC. Although it was definitely one of those chilly winter mornings in the city we can say it was totally worth the trek from Queens because my two boys aged 4 and 10 had such a good time and raved about the fun they had.
Dellah's Jubilation

Directed and produced by the author's daughter Arielle Sosland, this inspiring musical featured catchy songs and was funny and touching. Mike and I watched from the third row & our boys sat on the floor with a bunch of other tiny theater goers. There really wasn't a bad seat in the house which allowed the kids in the crowd to hop on stage and interact with the cast.

With the theme of Believing in Yourself prominent, during the performance viewers get to follow the lives of two families, one human dad who's been brainstorming ideas for his new children's book with the help of his young daughter Sarah and another made up of a mother duck and her 5 ducklings (Can Do, Russ, Penelope, Lilac and Nelly) who face issues that are very common for most kids: accepting one another, facing fears and sibling rivalry.

Geared towards children ages 3-11, little ones will most enjoy being able to follow the story along by watching the animated scenes drawn on the screen behind the live performers. The kids in the audience were completely captivated and engaged as they watched the tale unfold and giggles filled the room as we witnessed the ducks learn to walk, fly and swim.

Dellah's Jubilation

I know after the show a few of the moms admitted to getting teary eyed by how sweet the unexpected ending was & how overall it echoed the importance of supporting your loved ones and having a "Can Do" attitude!

Having a positive frame of mind has been crucial in our home as we have all recently gone through significant transitions: Tristan just started preschool a month before his 4th birthday, our 10yr. old CJ just transferred from the school he'd been at since Pre-K, during the middle of 4th grade to attend a pre-professional ballet public school and my hubby and I are both taking leaps of faith to explore our creative passions. Although change is good, we've definitely needed to be each others cheering squad these days. Towards the end of the show, when we heard the phrase "I say I can, I make a plan, I get right to it and then I do it" it really resonated with conversations we'd been having & will surely be a great confidence booster for all ages!

Dellah's Jubilation

At the conclusion of the show all of the lil' monsters were invited up on stage to learn from the ducklings how to swim and fly. As we listened in on a Q&A with the author of the original children's book and his wife & their daughter Arielle (Director) they shared how her college project led to bringing her father's story to the stage.
