Trip to SantaLand at Macy's 34th Street and Discount Offer to ELF the Musical

Disclosure: Opinions expressed are 100% our own & we were provided media tickets to ELF the Musical

Year after year I wonder if it will be the last one where the boys will still BELIEVE in Santa and all of the magic of the holidays, but luckily this isn't that year! We've had our fair share of visits to the North Pole but this year thanks to Macy's new reservation only policy, our visit was the quickest and smoothest ever and it was just the inspiration we needed to get into the holiday spirit before we experience Elf the Musical at Madison Square Garden.

If you've visited SantaLand at Macy's 34th street in years past then you are oh so familiar with the crazy long wait as you navigate the merry maze of winter wonder, but on our recent trip our journey to see Saint Nick was only a swift 30 minutes!

Visitors on line that were used to the slow crawl that lasted hours were all whispering to each other and laughing about the ordeal we had all become accustom to this time of year just to see Santa. We all harmoniously agreed that it was impressive that with this new scheduling in place, that the line moved so fast only a few days before Christmas. I'm sure quite a few families skipped out on meltdowns and overtired children with this new system implemented.

ELF The Musical Is the hilarious tale of Buddy, who crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts as a child and is mistakenly transported to the North Pole. Buddy grows up thinking he’s an elf, but between his lousy toy-making abilities and enormous size, he begins to realize he’s not like the others. With Santa’s blessing, Buddy sets off on a whirlwind journey through New York City to find his birth father and learn about his past. With mayhem, mischief, and laughs-a-plenty, this fresh and funny holiday classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner ELF.

As a parent, I always wonder if the kids question how Santa has so much time to make toys and chat with all the kids that visit not only Macy's but the malls around the world. The experience at Santaland always reminds me of the moment when Buddy the Elf realizes the Santa at Gimbles isn't real and he yanks off his beard! There has got to be at least 3 or 4 Santa's stashed away in these cute little decorated houses and i'm curious if any kid has every accidentally spotted a second one and questioned the truth.

Needless to say our chipper elves asked Tristan what he wanted for X-mas and guided us in to meet the man of the hour. It was too cute listening to Tristan and Santa talking about his wishlist, you could see how nervous my little monster was as he handed off his lengthy letter explaining how helpful he'd been this year and why he deserved new Pokemon Toys and Soggy Doggy the Board Game.

The sweetest part of the evening was having my sister and 20 month old nephew Baby Q join us for his first pics with Santa. To be honest we worried he'd have a complete meltdown but he handled his first meeting like a pro! Not one tear shed and we got some great photos.
