Lil' Monsters in NYC: A Spring affair in Bryant Park & Around 5th Ave.

It seems kind of silly to post these snaps of me and the boys of the first day of spring in the city because the weather here in NYC has been just a bit chilly these last few days. I wouldn't put it past mother nature to give us a random snow storm before April is finished. I know, I know, I probably shouldn't even put that idea out into the universe because this has been the best winter I think us New Yorkers have seen in a crazy long time. Hope you enjoy the snaps and that Spring has truly sprung wherever you are!

The boys and I headed to Bryant Park, while we waited for The Hubby to get out of a meeting. It was so packed out there, everyone was enjoying their lunches outside.

Such a charming little carousel in the park.

It was our first time actually going into this huge New York Public Library. CJ loved the statue lions.

                                                             The Chrysler Building

Louboutin's 20th anniversary capsule collection sparkling from a Saks 5th Ave. window, I had to take pics.

We were totally in awe of this little secret hideaway we spotted btwn. 5th ave and Madison, somewhere in the early 50's streets. The Hubby and I were so caught up in not disturbing the lucky few that knew about this tiny little lunch spot we quickly took some pics and got one of the sweetest pics of Tristan to date.

We asked Tristan to sniff the tulip and my gentle giant walked over to the tulip and whacked it right off it's stem, picked it  up and inhaled. It wasn't exactly what we meant, but moments like that are so priceless.

Afterwards we made our way over to The Macaron Cafe for Macaron NYC Day, it was no surprise they were all out of freebies.

It didn't matter anyway, I was insistent that it would be the day we all tried them for the 1st time and we knew it would be worth it because despite there being no more samples, they still had a long line.

Tristan had the 1st tasting and is a fan of the dark chocolate flavored macaron. I had to put my camera down to clean up the sweet crumby, gooey delight he got all over his clothes!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend wherever you are and you can follow me and check out more pics  of this outing and everyday snaps of my cheeseball boys, The Hubby and I on Instagram @DellahsJubilation.

Happy Hump Day! You've made it half way through the week, and hopefully without too many gripes. We've been quite busy in our house planning/packing for our spring break travels to see my bestie and her fam. Here's a few links to help get you through the rest of the week!

Who wouldn't love staying at a hotel that leaves holiday themed rubber duckies out for their guests? That's just one of many hotel treats mentioned here on Conde Nast Traveler.

This Iphone case is a blast from the past! Say Cheese!

FREE do-it Herself workshops!

Someone must have really peeved you off if you plan to use this stationary as a salutation.

The Stiletto workout with stylist June Ambrose: "To deliver the wardrobe you have to make it believable."

Don't you just love the smell of Bacon & Eggs in the morning? I guess the pairing is great in the tub too.

Here's a few edible breakfast ideas to kick start your day.

The boys and I have been watching to see the Emperors and Kings. This clip of a criminal who'd do anything for love had me and The Hubby cracking up.

I'm a girl who loves flats, The Hubby picked these  rockin' chic ones out for me! and I'm also really feeling the FEED +Toms collaboration shoe.

Map out your fave locations "where grandmas house is" or "the best ice scream shop" on your kiddies blanket.

This subway poster keeps me and CJ entertained. Who's your favorite character? I love the woman putting on mascara and the lil girl looking out the window reminds me of every kid whose ever rode the subway.

Watch a  video of the awesome rainbow fountain {pictured above}.

Thanks for Linking Up!

TRENDscending Time: Alberta Ferreti for Macy's

Don't these pieces just make you want to grab your luggage and get packing? I am absolutely loving these bold colorful pieces and the airy knits being offered at very affordable prices $49- $119. I can't wait to pop in Macy's and to plan my summer excursions in these lovely outfits!

Happy Shopping,

Happy Hump Day! I hope wherever you are you enjoyed your first day of spring and that it was as beautiful there as it was here in NYC! Here's a few links to keep you distracted as you anticipate the weekend:

Spring means it's time to get our picnic gear in order, this chic basket is fashion forward and functional.

People as pixels, pretty dang cool. Especially the one of Audrey Hepburn.

What girl wouldn't want such a wonderful pop of neon hanging from their arm?

Macaron NYC day was yesterday and I enjoyed my first little sweet treat. Wouldn't these trinket boxes make great favors?

There's a new Surfing workout class at Chelsea piers. I think I'd need the Cali beaches to motivate me, but check out this video.

A comfy place to sit, reminds me of preschool arts and crafts.

Elated with Etsy: Nautical Knots & Stripes

I woke up this morning with a huge smile on my face, anticipating the warm weather days ahead of us. I have yet to venture off on a sailing excursion with my bestie Erin yet but even on land I love my stripes.

What  sea worthy finds are you lusting over this season?

I hope there are great weather days for sailing and all sorts of outdoor fun headed our way. Happy 1st day of spring! Let the sunshine in and enjoy.

Last year, me hanging in Tribeca

Random Goodness: Welcoming Spring with Terrariums and Gardens for small spaces

1. Perfectly festive Easter egg terrariums

2. Four Globe Manzanita Forest

3. Modern Pyramid Lichen Moss Terrarium

4. Mason Jar Herb Garden

                                                       5. Vertical shoe rack vegetable garden

I definitely lack a green thumb in our home, and if it weren't for the Hubby, the one plant we do have{ not sure what it's called but it has purple and pink flowers} would surely be dead by now. I have been known to kill an orchid or two during our dating years{and they are supposed to be really low maintenance}

6. Our plant is truly lucky to have the Hubby in her life!

I would love to have one of those gorgeous green spaces filled with exotic plants and flowers but I know I'd never be able to keep up. I have a hard enough time making sure all the boys, including the dog have eaten. A garden or plant would fall victim to my busy schedule and delusions of garden grandeur but I thought these Terrariums and indoor gardens would be the perfect touch of spring in a small space or for those who are as horrible with greenery as me.

Are you planning to add some sort of greenery to your space to welcome Spring into your home? How does your garden grow?

Happy Planting!

Revel in NY: Macaron Day NYC 2012

1. Happy St. Paddy's Day

2.  Pecan Pie Macaron

3. Fun Color

4. Who doesn't love Fruity Pebbles

5. Neapolitan Ice Cream Macarons

Macarons seem to be stealing the spotlight away from the cupcake these days with their decadent flavors and eye-popping rainbow assortment of colors. I was overwhelmed by images and flavor descriptions on Pinterest, it was very difficult to narrow down the choices {not to mention I was starving as I put this together}.These little treats pack BIG yummy taste and are tons of fun to have at your next celebration.

If you are in NYC this upcoming week {March 20th} head to the Macaron Day NYC 2012 for a sample from participating local bakeries. If one just isn't enough, some of the proceeds from purchases made that day will go to City Harvest, an organization that helps New York's hungry men, women and children.

My oldest son CJ would love if we stopped by the Macaron Parlour to try out their Bacon and cream cheese Macaron! and their other delicious sounding flavors: Tiramisu, S'mores, Thai Chili and Red Velvet to name a few.

Macaron Parlour's Candied bacon with Maple Cream cheese Macaron

Happy Tasting!

Elated with Etsy: Shop Spotlight on Zeppi Prints

I stumbled upon Zeppi prints a few nights ago while searching for the perfect ocean prints to update CJ's side of the room. I love Robin's {the artist} use of colors that either pop and bring out a rooms fun-tastic personality or that are very neutral and seemingly calm and comforting, while staying on trend with the oh-so popular Chevron and polka-dot prints.

Is their a room in your home that needs a piece of artwork to liven it up in time for Spring? What have you been dreaming up for your space?

Happy Hump Day! Here's a few awesome distractions for you to enjoy. Whether you are watching the clock from your desk or chasing behind the kids and everything else that falls in between, I hope these links entertain you, give you something to think about and carry you through the rest of the week:

Happy 100th Birthday to the Oreo Cookie! Here's an artists who uses the century old cookie to make fantastic art & if you are looking for tasty Oreo treats for your next party check out my friends shop.

Seeing as I can't get to Paris anytime soon, I'd just love for someone to present me with this Paris in a box set. I love how it's wrapped.

Images of Jay -Z and President Obama created out of colorful thumbtacks. Truly creative.

Primary colors in a NYC home.

The Muppets released on DVD. Secretly I know you'll probably be playing with the finger puppets. Ha!

Artist and Fleas has a new pop up shop in Chelsea Market. If you're in NYC grab a prop & take some cheeseball pics.

Totally annoys me when the supermarket has a sale and all you find in the freezer is stacks of the same 3 horrible flavors. This site was mentioned in my Feb. 2012 issue of The Oprah Magazine, get creative, make your own!

I'm in love with the array of color choices you can get your pants in right now. Check out these 23 ways to rock the trend and here's how I've been wearing mine:

A Cause for Jubilation: A colorful ball pit can even help random adults connect

While cleaning out my email box I stumbled upon one from Oprah.com and followed a link on Icebreakers for grownups. This Soul Pancake clip touches on the idea that we spend so much time passing each other by, caught up in our own day to day, probably not even mouthing a hello, good morning, let alone making eye contact.

If only meeting new people and making friends were as easy as when we were kids. As a parent and preschool teacher usually ball pits symbolize a pool of germs and yuckiness but actually in this instance I wouldn't mind seeing this ball pit full of random questions located in the middle of Times Square...Who inspires you? What's on your bucket List?

I love this, especially the two that pulled out their fake teeth {hysterical}, fate put them together in this pit they agreed. Great idea Golriz and Devon! Hope you guys enjoy and check out their other videos.

Fabulous FĂȘte: Happy 108th Birthday Dr. Seuss

" I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life's realities.”
 ~ Dr. Seuss {find this quote and others here}

While searching the web I found the two most adorable kids parties on Hostessblog.com that celebrated a few of this fantastic author's colorful, whimsical characters and wackiest phrases. The families attention to details in incorporating some of his works were pretty dang Awesome.

With the Premiere of The Lorax Movie coming out this weekend, this dessert table seemed like an adorably sweet treat to enjoy.

It only seems fitting that Dr. Seuss's birthday be celebrated across the country along with Read Across America Day, for his positive influence on the development of young readers and his insightful, creative stories. My favorite Dr. Seuss book was "There's a Wocket in My Pocket" because it taught me the names of all the common household items. Unfortunately I spent a great deal of time as a child looking for the creatures mentioned around our apartment, actually believing they did reside behind my curtain and in the waste basket.

Growing up what was your favorite Dr. Seuss book ? & when was the last time you read it?

Maybe it's time for a walk down memory lane, grab a copy of your favorite Dr. Seuss book or one you may have never read at your local bookstore/ library or download a copy to your E-reader of choice and start the weekend of with a little bit of relaxing nonsense!

xoxo,
          Dellah
