Citizen's Ride for Light Event Raises Money for Habitat Humanity #MostoutofLight

Lately I've been trying to find ways to squeeze in a workout, even if it is for a mere 15 minutes, so I jumped at the chance to help raise money for one of my favorite organizations just by committing to a quick, heart pumping cycle session. This week Citizen Watch fans, Habitat for Humanity supporters, Revolve spin enthusiasts, leading members of the press and blogosphere-- and even a few passers by cycled together right in the center of New York's Flatiron district to Illuminate the Earth!

Disclosure: I was invited to attend this event as media and received an Eco-Drive Citizens watch. The opinions expressed are 100% my own and no other compensation was received.

A circle of stationary bikes surrounded a globe that dramatically lit from within as the bikers peddled faster while sweating it out to trending tunes under the iconic Flatiron building. Citizen made a donation to Habitat for Humanity in honor of each participant for a total of $12k.

The event celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Citizen Eco-Drive technology which powers watches by light, enabling those who wear Citizen to avoid polluting the earth with discarded watch batteries.

Now you can join us all in celebrating Earth Day today by sharing this inspirational little video:

Citizen will donate an additional $.40 per share up to another $8k donation to support Habitat for Humanity in lighting up the lives of New Yorkers in need with new and refurbished homes to call their own.

How will you be celebrating Earth Day this year?
