"When do we go back to school mommy, is it almost time?" You'd think Tristan was having the most awful summer the way he's been counting down until he heads back to the classroom and gets to see all of his lil' monster friends. Watching his face change as he tries to process how many days are actually in a month is hysterical. "So, how many more days exactly? Today is Tuesday, so after Sunday?" and his big brother laughs at him as I tell him not to worry about it, it will be here before he knows it.

Like most kids I'm sure, Tristan is looking forward to seeing his friends again, making new ones and meeting his new teacher. We've been gradually getting all their "must haves for back to school" in order and having cool clothes is a top priority for my boys. When I was invited out to a midtown showroom by Brianne of Stroller in the City to check out some of the latest styles for kids I knew the graphic tees and vibrant colors from True Religion were screaming Tristan.
The collection of True Religion styles designed for kids who want to be seen and heard was perfect for Tristan and I knew the True Buddha tee and Fashion Geno denim would be a great match for his playful, yet rough and tough spirit. The jeans are very durable so i'm not too worried about them getting a hole in them after the first climb or fall and of course I'm a fan of the elastic adjustable waist bands to ensure a snug fit. The tee is lightweight making it great for the current warmer weather and can be layered under a flannel shirt or hoodie when it gets cooler.
I never thought motherhood for me would start off with having two high energy, lovable boys but I couldn't picture it any other way. My first day of school outfit always consisted of a pretty dress that I could twirl around in, new shiny shoes and the most colorful hair barrettes imaginable. One thing that was the complete opposite of my expectation of being a mom to boys was that I'd actually end up with two boys who love shopping for clothes {for themselves, god forbid I want to try anything on} and I never thought that I'd have to spend time doing their hair {I pray for patience every day when it's time to wash their locs and re-twist them}I figured they'd be taking regular trips to the barbershop with their dad.
Now my oldest is off to middle school and leaving his little brother Tristan behind as he heads off to first grade. Luckily Tristan is very independent and all though he's voiced that he's going to miss CJ a bunch, he's very sociable and always praised for great listening ears in the classroom.
Are your kids ready to go back to school yet? What would be their perfect outfit for the first day of school?
