Do ya'll remember grabbing your favorite bowl of cereal (in my case Corn Pops and Lucky Charms) and binge-watching episodes of Scooby - Doo back in the day? Once Fred said "Looks like we've got another mystery on our hands" ya knew it was time to get in full detective mode to try and figure out who the masked bad guy was before it was solved in the cartoon. Lmao, I was always so hyped when I could figure it out early on.
Fast Forward to today and Scoob and the gang have a fresh new look for Gen Z kids and their families in the latest Warner Bros Movie. And guess what? You're all invited to join us for the #SCOOBMovieNight Premiere Event on Twitter this Friday, May 15.

Geeking Out During our Exclusive Tour of Blue Sky Studios Plus a Q&A with Spies in Disguise Directors Troy Quane and Nick Bruno
Disclosure: We were invited to attend a media day at Blue Sky Studios in anticipation of the release of Spies in Disguise in theaters.
Blue Sky Studios is infamous for some of the most memorable movie-watching moments that we've had as a family and I'm sure you can relate. From insanely popular classics like Ice Age and Rio to newer titles like Horton Hears a Who, The Peanuts Movie, Ferdinand and the upcoming Spies in Disguise, we've been fans of Blue Sky Studios's innovative animation and storytelling style for over a decade.
Were anyone else's kids completely obsessed with the opening musical sequence from the colorfully animated movie Rio like our two boys were? I'm telling you we played those first few minutes repeatedly while they danced around flapping their arms like crazed tropical birds in the Amazon. Watching them squawking and singing along have made for some adorable memories. You'd think that one catchy song was the entire full-length movie and don't get me started on the hilarious antics of Scrat from the Ice Age franchise! Poor thing can't ever catch a break and he gets a good laugh out of kids of all ages.
As you can imagine, the hubby and I completely geeked out over the opportunity to head to Connecticut to tour Blue Sky Studios. During the exclusive media tour, we'd get a first glimpse at some behind the scenes footage and art before chatting it up with the movie makers and debuting Directors Troy Quane and Nick Bruno over their new comedy adventure film Spies in Disguise which stars actors Will Smith and Tom Holland and hits theaters on Christmas Day.

Must Haves for Lil' Monsters 2019 Holiday Gift Guide and Giveaway for Tweens and Teens
And just like that Christmas is 1 week away and no thanks to me, our Christmas tree was finally put up on Monday! Every year I swear I'm going to do better and at this point, I don't think my 9-year-old believes a single word. With two visits to LA in just a month's time, somehow the holiday crept up on us but don't think for one second that the tween and teen haven't put in their wishlist requests from us and Santa already!
We've had the chance to check out some of the coolest new toys for Gen Z kids in 2019 and have quite a few favorites that are definitely Must-Haves for your (not-so) Lil' Monsters. There are some pretty fun finds out on shelves and online and we've rounded them up in 6 categories: Trendy for Tweens, Trendy for Teens, STEM, Family Game Night, Video Games, and Books and Movies

Comedy-adventure Gold: Jumanji:The Next level Goes Above and Beyond the Classic
Only one film franchise spans three decades of capturing the imaginations of what it’s like living out our favorite games: Jumanji! From the classic board game-based film in 1995 to the video reboot a little over two years ago in 2017, these films have never disappointed. This new installment in the, expected to go even longer, three-part (four if you really know your Jumanji lore) movie franchise, Jumanji: The Next Level brings back the last sequel’s cast and adds surprise performances, ageless relatable wisdom, and new adventures making for a great Christmas season release. Returning with the strong talents of what now must be considered one of the best comedy movie duos, in Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, along with Jack Black and Karen Gillan, only proves this is a recipe for comedy-adventure movie success and with a fun plot twist, this movie is definitely not just another old run at the Jumanji video game.

You'll never look at Pigeons the Same! Grab Free Passes to NYC Advance Screening of Spies in Disguise
Disclosure: We were provided tickets to attend an advanced screening
NYC pigeons are pretty bold and unassuming and most times they don't even flinch a feather when you pass them in the streets. They really have a lot of nerve! After experiencing an early preview of the new Twentieth Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios production of Spies in Disguise during the Geekly Retreat, I'm realizing the reason they're the most common creatures found across the globe is that they obviously must be top-secret international agents out to save the world. Ha!
Could you imagine if every NYC pigeon you'd ever passed on your walk to the subway or while sitting in Central Park was really a spy?

Meet the Ooky Spooky Addams Family in Westfield New Jersey for AddamsFest
Imagine getting to celebrate Halloween with the creepy and cooky first family of scream, the Addams family in their home town! With their return to the big screen that’s exactly what you can do by heading to theaters for their first animated comedy feature premiering this October. Then, after the movie, take a trip with Lurch to Westfield, New Jersey for AddamsFest!!
Did you know that the creator of the original Addams Family New Yorker cartoons, Charles Addams, was in fact from this quaint yet eery little town in New Jersey? We had no idea and were intrigued by our visit to Westfield to tour where he grew up and see how the native son is celebrated with all the fandom of this iconic television family.

The Circle of Life: Reviews of Disney The Lion King from Multi-Generational Families Across the Nation #TheLionKing
We made it a family affair and checked out Disney’s The Lion King, in theaters NOW! When I was a kid, I remember when big blockbuster movies hit theaters, our fam would rally up sometimes and go in big groups. I loved those moments so much because with tons of snacks in hand we'd fill rows of the theater with parents, grands, cousins, aunties, uncles and even the neighbor's kid from down the hall, LOL. 25 years later we knew we'd have to meet up to enjoy each others company amidst singing along and all of the laughter while watching this Disney classic unfold on the big screen once more. While scrolling through the #lionking on Instagram It was so awesome to see how many other families around the world journeyed to the pride lands, many rocking matching Lion King tees to see the film.
With all the criticisms lately over the new genre of Disney live-action remakes (we're still not sure how to feel about the upcoming Mulan), we decided to go in with an open mind but definitely had high hopes that Director John Favreau would do one of our top 3 Disney films justice the way the animated 1994 classic gave us all the warm and fuzzy feels. To be honest, our multi-generational family of hard to impress Millenials and Gen-Z kids thought the new Lion King was a good family flick, despite any mixed reviews you've already heard or read. It's already made $185 million domestically this opening weekend, but is it really a must-see or are we all just buying tickets for the sake of nostalgia? We Chatted with other Disney loving families around the nation who shared their memories and thoughts on the movie.

Don't You Dare Close Your Eye's! 4 Reasons Disney's Aladdin is a Must See + Video Review and Giveaway #Aladdin
Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Jakks Pacific whose sponsoring this giveaway and our annual holiday toy drive. Thank you for reading & supporting the brands who help us support families in need.
Growing up I remember watching Disney’s Aladdin in the living room of our 2 bedroom apartment in Queens, we'd pull off all the seat cushions from the couches and spread each of them across the floor. My sissy and I would pretend that we were hopping from one rooftop to the next like we were being chased through the city of Agrabah. I'm surprised we didn't ruin the dang VHS ribbon after the number of times we played that tape. We'd belt out all of those catchy songs at the top of our lungs and crack up at Robin Williams in his larger than life role as the Genie.
Fast forward to today and us 80’s and 90’s babies have been waiting patiently for the release in theaters, some of us with a little skepticism after seeing what felt like subpar trailers and having high expectations of Disney’s latest live-action update. Would it be masterfully produced, and visually engaging? It's freaking Disney of course and Guy Ritchie was at the helm in the director's seat giving his touch of fast action and grit, while the legendary Alan Menken would undoubtedly have us singing along on a new adventure, with 2 brand new songs.
Aladdin is one of those movies that quintessentially represents our childhood and we knew there was no way with all the cinematic magic in the world that Disney could fail us, or could they?

I'll say this, Don’t You Dare close your eyes on this movie or underestimate Will Smith in his role as the Genie! We screened the film with our 2 boys and it brought a whole new world to light in a way that was true to the nostalgiac storyline yet updated with a few modern twists that were meant to appeal to a Gen Z audience.

The Sun is Also a Star: NYC Screening and Fandango Giftcard Giveaway
Are you a believer in fate and destiny or do you think that life is purely based on fact and science? It's been a while since I've read a good romantic story that later unfolds on the big screen, so I'm really looking forward to seeing The Sun is also a Star. A story that follows College-bound romantic Daniel Bae (Charles Melton) and Jamaica-born pragmatist Natasha Kingsley (Yara Shahidi) who meet -- and fall for each other -- over one magical day amidst the fervor and flurry of New York City. As a New Yorker born and raised I always enjoy movie scenes that use this crazy city I love as a backdrop, and spotting neighborhood staples, touristy spots and the mix of culturally diverse people that make this a special place.
Sparks immediately fly between these two strangers, who might never have met had fate not given them a little push. With just hours left on the clock in what looks to be her last day in the U.S., Natasha is fighting against her family's deportation just as fiercely as she's fighting her growing feelings for Daniel.

Detective Pikachu NYC Screening Ticket Giveaway
"I wanna be the very best, Like no one ever was.To catch them is my real test, To train them is my cause." Lmao, I remember wanting to be a Pokemon Trainer with my own Pikachu, Squirtle, Charmander, Bulbosaur, and Jigglypuff - as 80's babies and 90's kids we knew we had to catch them all! Flashing back to my childhood whenever I see Pikachu, I crack up laughing because it's pretty crazy how the anime cartoon I loved watching is now an obsession with my tween and teen boys. Only they're on some next level fandom, with their toy pokeballs, Nintendo 3DS games, talking-light up plush and Pokemon cards all over our apartment floor. And now there's Detective Pikachu, a live-action moving hitting theaters on May 10th that we're all pretty hyped about.

Sasquatch Spotted in Sunny L.A: Missing Link Press Junket and Review
Hey guys! Let me tell you about my trip to LA that just fell into my lap. Completely unexpectedly. You see, Danielle’s been doing such a boss job with this blog and at her actual job that she is now needed on both coast simultaneously. Not being able to teleport and not wanting to lose an important link in the network, Danielle texted me on Tuesday of last week to ask if I’d be able to go to Los Angeles this weekend. I would be attending a screening of the movie “Missing Link” and a press junket where not only would I be in the room with Zoe "IT’S-FREAKIN-GAMORA!" Saldana and Zach Galafinakis but I’d actually be not only allowed to but absolutely encouraged to talk to them!
All this while staying at The Beverly Hilton!! With all expenses paid!!! I checked our family calendar and by some blessed coincidence, we had nothing planned for that weekend. None of my three kids had any activities. There were no birthday brunches. We didn’t even have any house viewings scheduled (we’re currently house hunting in Jersey). All this added up to a resounding LET’S DO THIS and by Thursday I had my tickets in hand.

3 Lessons from Fighting With My Family and Q&A with WWE Divas Champ Paige and Cast #FightingwithMyFamily
Watching Wrestling in our family is going 4 generations strong so when I think about all the cool and random moments we’ve had it’s really crazy to look back on all of our WWE experiences. My maternal grandmother {gramps} and my dad first introduced me to the sport and I was instantly hooked, naming my one boy cabbage patch doll after Virgil a professional wrestler for the WWF.
Fast forward to adulthood and my two boys CJ and Tristan have been fans of the WWE universe for nearly 5 years and have crazy dreams of becoming professional tag team partners one day. You can only imagine how excited we were to be invited to an early screening of Annapurna picture's new film "Fighting with My Family" - the life story of one of our fave WWE Divas Champ Paige!
